In the third episode of PKKH’s own production in association with AhmedQuraishi.com, (Loud & Clear from Islamabad – Pakistan’s first and only Web-TV show) – Former ISI Chief Gen. Hamid Gul details how he once prevented the US ambassador from traveling to Peshawar without permission and how subsequent Pakistani rulers changed the practice, why he believes Pakistani nationalist officers within the military won’t let the outsiders and their Pakistani collaborators get their hands on our nuclear weapons. Watch him also reveal the details of a meeting he says former President Musharraf held with American emissaries five days after the coup where he gave the first of many concessions to America.

It has now become routine for the US to focus on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons whenever there is trouble within the country. Clearly, the US has not recovered from its trauma of seeing a developing Muslim state acquire nuclear capability. Moreover, as one of the greatest proliferators since 1945 to Israel, the US has always maintained hypocrisy over its non-proliferation stance and this has now been fully exposed with its 123 nuclear agreement with India.

Nevertheless, the US has continued to be relentless in targeting Pakistan’s nuclear assets in one way or another. What has been of growing concern to some of us has been the seeming weakening of the Pakistani resolve on sustaining the credibility of our nuclear deterrence through constant improvement and increase in the nuclear arsenal especially post-9/11. If individual incidents are collated together, the dismal picture unfolds more clearly.

First there was the bizarre and totally unnecessary victimisation of Dr A Q Khan. While the Musharraf regime thought that would end the focus on our nuclear programme, many of us at the time stated the apparent that capitulation on this count would only send the wrong signals to the US and our other nuclear detractors as they would take this as a sign of our weakness. And that is exactly what has been happening since.

‘NO CHANCE of moving troops from Indian border. US guarantees cannot be trusted’ – General Kayani

ISLAMABAD: The military leadership on Friday told the national political leadership that there was no chance of moving the armed forces from Pakistan’s border with India for their deployment at the western borders.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—The date is 14 of March around 6 PM Atizaz Ahsan receives a phone call from President House. The man on the other side says few sentences. Atizaz Ahsan, with a sharp smile on his face, says “I will talk to him”.
These few sentences made the day for Atizaz Ahsan. What were these sentences?
We don’t know exactly but after this Atizaz Ahsan calls someone else but the phone was busy or did not answer. He dials another phone number and someone picks up the phone this time. Atizaz Ahsan asks for Nawaz Sharif.

Atizaz Ahsan: They have accepted it. But they insist on not touching NRO.
Nawaz Sharif: What? No, this is another trick.
Atizaz Ahsan: Gilani Sahab asked for guarantee.
Nawaz Sharif: Talk to Chief Sahab
Atizaz Ahsan: I will, but what do you think?
Nawaz Sharif: Why don’t you talk to him first and I will get back to you.

By Talha Mujaddidi in Pakistan. Axis Exclusive

Talha Mujaddidi, Axis of Logic columnist, reporting from Pakistan

What took place on March 15 reveals more about U.S. involvement and manipulation of the political process in Pakistan.

“The Long March”, against the Pakistan government, was scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15, 2009. When I first switched on the TV, around 9 o’clock that morning, I saw that there were only few people on the streets of Lahore. It began as an ordinary day in Pakistan but soon it changed into most memorable for Nawaz Sharif7, former Prime Minister and the rest of the Pakistani people. The reason was that Nawaz, and Aitezaz14, both were under house arrest. Nawaz came out of his house and told public on live TV that he was defying his house arrest and leaving for the Long March. As Nawaz, left his house arrest in a caravan, crowd started pouring onto the streets of Lahore, the police tried to stop the protestors using, tear gas, and a baton charge. The roads were blocked with buses with their tires ripped so that they could not be moved. The crowds kept pouring in, and soon it was clear that the police could not hold back the crowd. Choudary must have seen all this on TV at his house; he too defied his house arrest and took to the street.
